Why do I see an error message when trying to access electronic resources or databases?
Answer
Sometimes, you'll see an error message when accessing eResources- especially if you try to access many resources in a short amount of time. These errors can often be related to a web browser's history, cache, and/or cookies.
Common errors:
- Error 'Too Many Redirects'
- Error 400 'Bad Request - Request Too Long'
- Error 413 'Payload Too Large'
- A white or blank screen
An easy way to diagnose this type of issue is to copy and paste the problematic URL into a new private/incognito browser window. If access works, then the issue is related to the browser history, cache, and/or cookies. To fix this, clear your browser using the below instructions.
If the error isn't resolved in private/incognito mode, please share with us, and we're happy to help troubleshoot.
